“When we feel physically unwell or out of sorts, we have the reassurance that we can visit our GP or A&E, to be told all is well, maybe receive an antibiotic or be referred to a specialist. However, when we feel emotionally unwell or out of sorts we tend to bottle it up, swallow it down and tell ourselves to move on. This response can be a strength but if this become’s the norm to our upsetting emotions, like an unattended physical ailment our symptoms can worsen. It is a part of the human condition that we are designed and have the need to heal our emotional ailments and wounds. This is what Counselling and Psychotherapy facilitates, – the paying attention to our emotional healing process “
